Transport:

Thornbury Centre readily accessible by bus including T1 and T2. Parking in Rock St Car Park, Bath Rd. BS35 2BB (or other car parks). GPS Co-ords: 51.606862, -2.523534, What 3 words: recall,grabs,abundance. ST641903. Do not use the few Community centre spaces. Arrangements similar to BOK Blast 2019.

Registration:

5.30 – 7.15 pm, in the Turnberries Community Centre. Directly across Bath Rd from southern entry to Rocks St. car park

Map:

1:5,000, 5m contours, overprinted, waterproof, size A3. Used for 2019 BOK Blast. Loose control descriptions will be available at start. Newcomers are advised to familiarise themselves with uncrossable features and out of bounds symbols. (Ask registration)

Terrain:

Urban, a mixture of residential estate with irregular road pattern, alleys and cycle ways and parkland. Road shoes preferred except for Short.

Courses:

Short (Orange standard) 3.0 km, Medium (Green standard) 4.5 km, Long (Blue standard) 6.5 km. (Distances as straight line) Juniors (under 16) should be accompanied by a responsible adult. If detailed design of Short Course proves to be nearly traffic free this restriction could be relaxed for Short Course only. There are courses suitable for beginners of all ages; help and advice available on the day.

Start/Closure:

Starts 6.00pm – 7.30pm. Courses close 8.30 pm. Start and Finish 500m of Turnberries.

Entry Fee:

Juniors and students £3, seniors £6. Entries are prefferred via www.fabian4.co.uk. Entries on the day use a details form. (download or obtained at registration.) Contactless SIAC enabled. Standard and SIAC dibbers available for hire: £1.50 for seniors and free for juniors and students. Lost dibbers will be charged at £40 and £60 respectively. If thinking of bringing a group please notify organiser so adequate number of maps are provisioned

Safety:

Long and Medium courses cross significant roads beware of traffic, the short course only uses estate roads. Major roads, which are designated by purple hatching on the map are not to be crossed, except by underpass or at other identified points. Courses may include cycle paths, look out for fast moving cyclists. Cross stream using marked bridges.

All competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. Runners traveling alone or with relevant pre-existing medical condition may wish to notify organiser.

Dogs:

Allowed (only Short has much off road); owners should be considerate to other users.
