Nav Racing 2012 Urban Series has kicked off!

The Nav Racing 2012 Urban Series kicked off this week with the first event at the University of Bath on a brand new map prepared specially for the series.

Bath athletes featured strongly in the results with Ben Nagy of the university cross country club winning the open course by just over a minute from Geoff Ellis, who he passed in the closing stages, and Henrietta Klovstad, also of the unviersity, winning the women's open by 11 seconds from BOK's Alice Bedwell.

Bath athletes, Jo and James Thompson of Team Bath AC, also won the Novice course by an impressive two and a half minutes.

The fastest time of the day on the super vets course was run by Duncan Birtwistle, getting in some shorter sprint practice following his selection for the GB team at the Junior World Championships, but the fastest super vet was John Simmons, in a time of 18:51.

On the junior course, Zac Hudd took the victory by 38 seconds from Chloe Potter.

The next event of the series is next Wednesday, 25 April, on the UWE campus at Frenchay (Details here, Series flyer here).
