BOK Urban Orienteering Series 4 - Cam & Dursley - 16th May 2018
Come and try navigating at speed around the attractive Cotswold towns of Cam and Dursley. There will be three courses available that will be suitable for anyone from complete begineers to experienced orienteers. The shorter course is suitable for under 16s who are safe running along pavements. It will not cross any roads. You will be given a map at the start and you have to visit the marked checkpoints in order. Your aim could be to complete the course or to do it in the quickest time. You can go on your own or with a friend.
Parking will be in Rednock School, Dursley, GL11 4BY and event registration, toilets and changing facilities will be in the Sports Centre behind the school. The start and finish will be nearby. The map has been extended from the one used in previous years. It is at a scale of 1:5,000 and printed on waterproof paper. Electronic timing will be used. Chips or 'dibbers' can be hired for £1.50 or free if you are going around with a junior.
You will be able to register from 5.30pm. Courses will close at 8.15pm. Please ensure you have returned by this time, even if you have not completed the course.
Advice and assistance will be available for newcomers.
There are direct trains from Bristol to Cam railway station. It is 4km from the station to the event.
We have had a good gathering at the Old Spot in Dursley after the previous 2 year's events, but there has been no food. The pub will provide us with food, if there is sufficient interest. Please let us know if you might eat via the poll on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bristolok/
